Nick & Sylvia’s Wedding: Accommodations

Option 1: On-site Cabins ($20/night)

We have booked 31 rustic cabins (think of them as essentially wooden boxes with raised wooden platforms as beds--no electricity and no private bathrooms). As shown in the panorama below, each cabin has 4 small cots with a sleeping pad, along with a fireplace and a balcony. There are two nearby shower houses with electric lighting/outlets, flushing toilets, and showers with hot water. The fee for staying onsite is $20 per person per night (pay via venmo: @Sylvia-Herbert). Before booking this, please make sure you understand the following:

  1. There is no electricity in the cabins

  2. Each cabin has 4 wooden platforms with a thin sleeping pad but no sleeping bag or pillow (we can help coordinate rentals)

  3. There are no private bathrooms, but there will be nearby shower halls (pictured right) with working showers, toilets, sinks, etc.

  4. There is electrical lighting around the shower houses, dance hall, and kitchen, but minimal path lighting.  You will need a flashlight or head lamp.

  5. Depending on how many responses we get for the cabins we may have to put two couples in one cabin (though we don’t expect this to happen). If there are other guests who you would like to share your cabin with, please let us know!

Option 2: Airbnb/Inn/Cottage

For those who would like a real bed and electricity, Mendocino and Fort Bragg are full of incredible accommodations within a short drive of the Woodlands. We will be compiling a list of suggested locations here.

Option 3: Tent Camping (free)

If you prefer to bring your own tent and/or van to sleep out of there are areas for tent camping! Nick is demonstrating one such area here.

Note that you will definitely want to get in early enough that you won’t be setting up camp in the dark.
