Alex is pursuing a M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus in Controls and Mechatronics at UC San Diego. He earned his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Controls and Robotics.
Alex's research interests lie in control theory and hardware implementation of safe control algorithms for aerial systems. He is currently developing a geofencing project, utilizing control barrier functions, to create a bounded virtual environment. His goal is to have geofencing allow for future drone experiments to be conducted in a wider range of physical environments.
In his free time, he enjoys weightlifting, hiking, going to the beach, running, and any outdoor activities.
